Gameware started simple enough; one of several mail-order services in the back of your favorite 90’s gaming magazine. It wasn’t long before Steve Bernhard, with entrepreneurial vision and grit, realized that a brick-and-mortar storefront would best serve his customers. He opened the first Gameware store in the Mall of Louisiana in 1997, and 10 years later opened his second Baton Rouge store near the campus of LSU. Offering console repairs as well as expert recommendations, Gameware’s reputation and presence solidified. Now a fixture of the community and childhood joy to many, gamers in Baton Rouge and beyond rely on our experience and curated selection to discover all that gaming has to offer. Our customers understand the quality and consistency that can only come from a local proprietor.
